Stark brothers Richard Madden and Kit Harington reunite at Eternals premiere
By Dan Selcke
Earlier this week, Marvel premiered its newest movie Eternals to the cast, crew and assorted journalists. First impressions are positive, but let’s ignore that for now and focus on this adorable moment on the red carpet, when former Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Richard Madden (Robb Stark) took a moment to hug each other while doing press:
I know this is just a passing moment, but I can’t help getting a little emotional seeing Robb and Jon finally reunite; they parted ways on Game of Thrones very early on, right as Jon was leaving Winterfell to join the Night’s Watch. Robb would die at the Red Wedding before the brothers got to see each other again.
In Eternals, Madden plays Ikaris, the leader of the powerful Eternals. Harington plays Dane Whitman, aka the medieval-themed superhero the Black Knight. (Typecasting much?) Apparently they don’t have much screen time together, but you can still see Eternals when it opens in theaters on November 5.
What else are the Game of Thrones stars up to?
As long as we’re talking about s**t the Game of Thrones cast members are up to, here are some other fun highlights. Harry Lloyd (Viserys Targaryen) talked a bit about his upcoming film The Lost King, which comes out next year. “Finally got my crown,” he quipped on his Instagram, nodding to Viserys’ thwarted attempt to rule the Seven Kingdoms:
Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Gregor “the Mountain” Clegane) dressed up in some Viking-ish clothes that recalled his Game of Thrones days in an add for The Beard Struggle:
A couple of Game of Thrones vets posted pictures of themselves in stylish outfits, including Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen)…
…and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark):
And to close things out, here’s turning stalking the stage at a huge stadium right before someone — probably her husband Joe Jonas — performs:
They’re always up to something, this lot.
