Riverdale season 6 just got a bit more devilish, folks! The famous Greendale witch Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) is paying the town of Riverdale a visit, and we are so here for it.
Earlier this month it was announced that the highly anticipated crossover between Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was finally happening. While it’s already happened on a small scale, this will ratchet things way up.
Shipka starred in Chilling Adventures until it ended in 2020, but her reign as Sabrina Spellman is not over. Many are wondering exactly how Sabrina will appear on Riverdale considering she died in the series finale. There could be two things happening here: 1) the timelines may not be running parallel between the shows, so this could be before the events of the CAOS series finale; or 2) Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) conjures her up from the dead.
Whatever the case is, Cheryl is heavily involved in Sabrina’s return based on the new promo. Watch it below!
Sabrina Spellman arrives in Riverdale
Throughout Riverdale season 5, we saw Cheryl exploring her family’s history of magic and voodoo. It got pretty dark and weird, with Cheryl learning about her relatives being burned at the stake which led to her cursing the entire town.
Sabrina’s arrival probably has something to do with that curse. It’s unclear what version of Sabrina we’ll get, but it’s safe to assume that she is there to help Cheryl through this magical adventure.
But we won’t see Sabrina right away as she is set to arrive in the fourth episode of season 6.
Along with Sabrina’s arrival, the promo reveals that a lot is happening in the town of Riverdale, including but not limited to Archie (KJ Apa) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) getting more serious in their relationship — and apparently wanting to become parents?
It’s going to be a wild season for sure, and we simply can’t wait to see how this all goes down.
Welcome back, Sabrina Spellman, we’ve missed you!
Riverdale returns on November 16 on the CW.
