Everything to know about The Wheel of Time star Madeleine Madden (Egwene al’Vere)
Rejoice, fantasy fans! The highly anticipated Wheel of Time TV adaptation just began on Friday, and it seems those who read the books are pleasantly surprised with the Amazon series so far. The eight-episode season begins to tell the story of Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski), and in the premiere, we get to meet his love interest, Egwene al’Vere (Madeleine Madden).
Fans of The Wheel of Time book series know Rand has his fair share of romances throughout his journey, but his love interest in the first installment, The Eye of the World, is Egwene. The TV show has made some changes to their relationship, for instance including a love scene, so it’ll be interesting to see how that affects later events.
As we wait for more episodes of The Wheel of Time to be released, let’s get to know the actor who portrays Egwene, Madeleine Madden.
Madeleine Madden age
Born on Jan. 29, 1997, Madden is currently 24 years old. She was born and raised in Australia.
In The Eye of the World, Egwene is 17 years old, however, it was decided that some of the characters would be aged up for the TV adaptation. The Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins explained they avoided teenage characters because they didn’t want there to be a YA vibe.
Madeleine Madden Instagram
This budding star is very active on Instagram, where she has 41,400 followers. Madden recently shared photos from the Wheel of Time premiere in London, where she was joined by her cast members. Most of her recent posts are promoting the new show, and we can’t blame her for that.
Madden also uses her account to share selfies and shots from her various travels. To check out her page and give her a follow, click the link here.
Madeleine Madden height
The Egwene actor hasn’t confirmed it herself, but reports say she stands at 5’6.
Madeleine Madden roles
Though Madden is still an up-and-comer, she’s got a few roles in her resume that might be familiar. According to her IMDb page, she’s got 27 acting credits, which include her part as Sammy in the film Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Marion Quade in Amazon’s Picnic at Hanging Rock and Violca in Netflix’s Tidelands.
Up next, she’ll star in a drama called Maestro. Fingers crossed that Madden continues to shine as Egwene al’Vere in The Wheel of Time and we’ll see her in more projects in the near future.
The first three episodes of The Wheel of Time are now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, with the remaining five coming out weekly every Friday.
