Want to talk about scary Christmas movies? Well, we can’t forget one of the strangest films to get ever achieve cult status: Jack Frost. Somehow Hollywood has managed to take a variety of holiday staples and turn them into slasher films, and we’re not complaining.

This movie was a direct-to-video film that came out back in 1997 and had a very strange but intriguing plot. Jack Frost, a famous serial killer, is on the way to his execution when his driver gets into a car accident in the fictional town of Snowmonton: the car crashes into a genetics truck, which causes Jack to turn into a mutant snowman. Jack is presumed dead, but really he’s become a killer snowman determined to kill the man who caught him.

Why there is a truck driving around with that sort of genetic experiment is beyond me, and somehow I don’t think this is what would happen if it got into an accident, but the idea gave us this cult classic, so it was all worth it.
