15 best scary Christmas movies to watch this holiday season

Better Watch Out
Imagine if John Hughes made a holiday horror film and you’ve basically got the spirit of 2016’s Better Watch Out. The movie has a weird rom-com feel like a cute couples watch…at least until the murders start happening. Better Watch Out is a babysitter’s holiday gone wrong, a plot point also used in the classic horror film Halloween.
A young woman goes to babysit a 12-year-old during Christmastime and learns that the kid she’s babysitting has a major crush on her. The kid tries to put the moves on her while they’re watching a scary movie, and when that backfires, things get spooky.
I remember watching this movie as a joke a couple of years back, and while it’s definitely one of those campy, easily forgotten scary Christmas movies, it’s worth the watch. I don’t want to give away the plot twists because they may actually catch you by surprise. It’s an interesting movie, and at times hilarious.
