15 best scary Christmas movies to watch this holiday season

Dead of Night
We’re taking it back all the way to 1945 for another anthology horror film that featured five different stories. Guests gather in a cottage and begin to share spooky stories. It has a very Tales from the Crypt vibe to it, and the fact that it was made so long ago gives it its own spooky vibe.
Of the five stories in this movie, only one is specifically about Christmas, and is aptly titled “The Christmas Party.” The guest talks about how she played hide-and-seek as a young child and realizes that she is about to learn a lot than she bargained for whilst waiting in one of her hiding places. It has a very eerie vibe to it — I can personally attest to that!
One of the other stories involves a very creepy-looking ventriloquist dummy that has a mind of its own. I really don’t want to tell you more about “The Ventriloquist’s Dummy” than that, but I promise it will likely give you nightmares just in time for the holiday season.
You can stream Dead of Night on various platforms.
