Nothing says New Years like chocolate-covered frogs, a fireplace, and Hogwarts. To ring in 2022, HBO Max released the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts reunion special, and it was a delight. Potterheads gathered to watch as original cast members Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, along with a bunch of other people involved in the films, got together to reminisce on their years making these beloved movies.

But not all was well in Harry Potter land, because as the producers behind the special soon found out, fans of this series mean business. Trying to slip something past them is like breaking out of Azkaban. Good luck!

Case-in-point: per Digital Spy, at one point during the special a childhood photo of star Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) was shown onscreen…except it wasn’t Emma Watson. It was a totally different actress, Emma Roberts, who wasn’t even involved in the Harry Potter films at all. Yikes.

Harry Potter fans force change from WarnerMedia

Needless to say, the Harry Potter fans were on it, pointing out the mistake on Twitter.

How something like this slips through the editing room unnoticed, well…everyone makes mistakes, but that’s a pretty big one. Fortunately, the producers of Return to Hogwarts handled the whole thing with grace, acknowledging the mix-up with good humor and promising a quick fix.

“Well spotted Harry Potter fans!” they said in a statement released via Entertainment Weekly. “You brought an editing mistake of a mislabeled photograph to our attention. New version up shortly.”

So all’s well that end’s well. It could have been worse, after all. At least no one was mixed up with Voldemort.
