She-Hulk — Disney+ — 2022

Back in Marvel-ville, another show that’s coming to Disney+ this year is She-Hulk. While Mark Ruffalo will be appearing in this series as Bruce Banner / the Hulk, this show is all about Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), a cousin of Banner’s who gains her own Hulk powers after undergoing a blood transfusion.

One of the interesting things about She-Hulk is that it’s being described on the Disney+ site as a comedy. Pretty much every Marvel movie and TV show has a a strong comedic undercurrent, but it’s intriguing to see the company outright brand She-Hulk that way, because I can’t recall any of their other projects being given that label.

According to Marvel head Kevin Feige, She-Hulk will be a half-hour legal comedy, which will follow Jennifer Walters / She-Hulk as she comes to grips with her powers while also continuing to work as an attorney specializing in superhero-related cases. It sounds like it’s going to be pretty fun, and I kind of love that Marvel is leaning into the comedy.

In addition to Maslany and Ruffalo, She-Hulk will also see Tim Roth return as the Abomination, a role he played in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk and briefly reprised in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. No release date has yet been announced for She-Hulk, but it was confirmed as a 2022 release during Disney+ Day. The show wrapped filming in August 2021, so this feels like a title that could drop at anytime this year.
