When does season 5 of Outlander come to Netflix?

With the Droughtlander soon to be over and Outlander’s sixth season set to begin on Starz, you might be wondering where you can rewatch the show’s previous seasons to prepare. You aren’t the only one! With the latest trailer Starz just dropped for the show’s Revolutionary War-themed sixth season and the wait for new episodes stretching on for almost two years because of COVID-19 delays, anticipation is at an all-time high for Outlander’s return.

Seasons 1-4 are currently available on Netflix. But what about season 5?

Fear not, we’ve compiled all the info about where to watch the fifth season of the time-traveling historical drama right here for you.

Where to watch Outlander season 5

Currently, Outlander season 5 is not available on Netflix. This means that if you want to watch it before season 6 premieres on March 6, your best bet is either Starz or one of the Starz channel apps. Services like Prime Video and Hulu allow you to add Starz for an extra fee, so there is that option. The episodes are also available on most digital retailers or on DVD and Blu-ray.

All hope isn’t lost for the Netflix faithful, however. Per ClaireAndJamie.com, Netflix’s contract with Starz stipulates that the show’s fifth season comes to the streaming service a full two years after the airing of the finale. That means the earliest we can expect season 5 on Netflix in the US is May 10, 2022. This doesn’t apply in other countries, however, so depending on where you live the show’s fifth season may already be available on the streaming platform.

For US viewers though, it’s Starz, buying the season, or bust right now…at least until May.
