It’s still hard for me to believe that the current eleventh season of The Walking Dead will be its last. This show has been on for over a decade now, and I think part of me assumed it would always be around.

But all things must end. The Walking Dead has already aired eight episodes from its final season. Another block of eight is coming next month, and AMC just put out a new teaser. Check it out:

The character promise that they will “finish together.” Aw.

There’s more Walking Dead to come

The next stretch of episodes will see more of our survivors explore the Commonwealth, the biggest post-zombie apocalypse civilization any of our characters has ever encountered. It’s cool that even after 11 seasons the show is still finding new angles on the story.

Also, while the next eight episodes will get us closer to the end, the actual series finale is still a ways off. There will be one more break followed by one final suite of episodes later in the year.

The next episode of The Walking Dead, “No Other Way,” airs on February 20, although AMC+ subscribers can watch it a week early.

And I know we’ve been talking a lot about the coming end of the series, but even if the original show is concluding, The Walking Dead universe isn’t going anywhere. AMC has big plans for those zombies:
