Disney just recently wrapped up The Book of Boba Fett, one of a great many Star Wars TV shows it’s planning to roll out over the next bunch of years. Next on the block is Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi, which will see Ewan McGregor return to the title role he last played in 2005’s Revenge of the Sith.

And indeed, Revenge of the Sith is a good place to start because the first scene of the show will play off the events of that film, if a rumor from Making Star Wars can be believed. If you don’t wish to be exposed to potential SPOILERS, please do not read beyond this creepy picture of a wax Obi-Wan Kenobi at Madame Tussauds’ in London:

The first scene of the Obi-Wan Kenobi show reportedly takes place at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant

Okay, so according to a source at Making Star Wars, the first scene of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi was screened in Burbank, California. It takes place during the Jedi purge seen in Revenge of the Sith. Palpatine has given Order 66 and the clone troopers are killing Jedi throughout the galaxy. On the city planet of Coruscant, Darth Vader himself heads to the Jedi temple to kill the younglings.

The first scene is set at the temple and features clone troopers attacking two Padawans in their late teens or early twenties. Their Jedi masters sacrifice themselves, allowing the Jedis-in-training to escape.

Putting this together with some other rumors about the plot, The Direct theorizes that one of the Padawans who escape may be Nari, who then tracks down Obi-Wan Kenobi in his exile on the Tatooine, inadvertently leading a troupe of Jedi-hunting Inquisitors to the planet and endangering the life of young Luke Skywalker.

Again, this is all rumor, but I can see it happening. Star Wars producers have already shown that they’re willing to return to the scene of the slaughter at the Jedi temple; we saw it on The Book of Boba Fett, when Baby Yoda remembered his near miss with death there.

And it seems like a good inciting incident for the plot, which is still shrouded in mystery. We do know, however, that Obi-Wan will eventually have a rematch with Darth Vader, again played by Hayden Christensen.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 25.
