Disney is getting the hype rolling on its upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi show. The new series will find the title character — again played by Ewan McGregor for the first time since the Star Wars prequel trilogy — “rather broken, and faithless, and beaten, somewhat given up,” to quote McGregor himself, who spoke about the show to Entertainment Weekly.

The show is set after Revenge of the Sith, when Emperor Palpatine purged the Jedi and took over the galaxy, but before A New Hope, when Luke Skywalker met up with Obi-Wan before going on his adventure. As such, Obi-Wan is in self-imposed exile on the planet of Tatooine where he can watch over the young Luke from a distance, living in a cave and getting around on pack animals called eopies.

That said, Obi-Wan won’t stay on the desert planet the entire time. One image shows him on a new planet called Daiyu, which according to writer Joby Harold “sort of has a Hong Kong feel to it…It’s got a graffiti-ridden nightlife, and is kind of edgy. It’s just got a different lane and a different feeling.”

Moses Ingram plays the villain of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi

We don’t exactly know the story of the Obi-Wan Kenobi show, although there are hints. One thing EW reveals is that The Queen’s Gambit star Moses Ingram will play a Force-sensitive Imperial Inquisitor named Reva. Ruthlessly ambitious, Reva is seeking out Jedi-in-hiding on behalf of the Empire, which will bring her into conflict with Obi-Wan.

According to Ingram, Reva shares a kinship with the shady Grand Inquisitor as well as Darth Vader himself, who will once again be played by Hayden Christensen. “They share a common dark-side goal,” Ingram said. “They’re on the same team.”

Reva will also come into contact with Luke Skywalker’s guardian Uncle Owen, played by Owen Lars in the original Star Wars movie and Joel Edgerton in the new show; he also played Owen back in the prequel series, when George Lucas was still in charge. “Thank you, George, for casting Joel Edgerton as Uncle Owen,” director Deborah Chow laughed. “That’s all I can say.”

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 25.
