The Boys is the superhero show for people who don’t like superhero shows. It takes place in a world where superheroes are manufactured by a heartless corporation and turned into amoral mascots used to sell merch. Any acts of heroism are entirely incidental, and most of these “heroes” spend their time indulging their worst instincts and actively making the world a worse place.

It gets to the point where a group of anti-superhero guerrilla fighters take it upon themselves to bring the “Supes” down a peg. The show has found an eager audience, and now Amazon is gearing up for a third season with a series of irreverent posters that takes aim at the superhero of the moment: Batman, who currently has a box office-busting movie in theaters.

Here we have Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) parodying Robert Pattinson in The Batman. The middle finger flourish is all hers.

The rest of the Boys — Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Frenchie (Tomer Capon), Hughie (Jack Quaid) and Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso) get in their Batman parody moments below:

I actually don’t know which Batman movie the Mother’s Milk poster is parodying. Little help?

The Boys will “level the playing field” in season 3

And then there’s a brand new poster that just dropped today, showing Billy Butcher with some ominously glowing eyes:

Time to level the playing field, huh? Does that mean some of the Boys might try to acquire some superpowers of their own in the name of taking down the corrupt Supes? Something like that actually does happen in the comics by Garth Ennis, but so far the show has stayed away from that particular thread. Might the heroes of the story become the villains they so despise?

We’ll find out when The Boys season 3 premieres on Prime Video on June 3. And while we wait for that, Amazon recently put out a little spinoff series to tide us over:

dark. Next. The Boys Presents: Diabolical is a fun collaboration
