The Umbrella Academy season 3 gets a release date and a teaser

At the end of The Umbrella Academy season 2, the dysfunctional, superheroic Hargreeves family returned from a time-traveling adventure to find their own time much changed: their dad was alive, and their house was occupied by a group of seven super-powered individuals who weren’t them. Clearly, something has gone wrong, which is pretty standard for this lot.

In this timeline, Reginald Hargreeves recruited a different band of mystery children to form an ersatz crime-fighting family; they are known as the Sparrow Academy, and one of them is literally a giant floating cube, which is fun. How does these groups get on? According to the first teaser trailer, released at SXSW, they come to blow, which is also pretty standard for this lot. Watch below:

However, don’t expect them to be at each other’s throats for long. According to the official synopsis for season 3, once the two groups learn to coexist, our heroes will enlist the help of the Sparrow Academy in finding out what happened to the timeline and whether they can return to their own.
