Tomi Adeyemi

In 2018, Tomi Adeyemi published Children of Blood and Bone, the first in the Legacy of Orïsha trilogy. The book shot to immediate success, winning the 2018 Andre Norton Award for Young Adult Science Fiction and Fantasy, the 2019 Waterstones Book Prize, and the 2019 Hugo Lodestar Award for Best Young Adult Book.

The second book in the series, Children of Virtue and Vengeance, became a #1 New York Times Bestseller following its release in 2019. A screen-adaptation of the series is currently in the works at Paramount Pictures.

Hafsah Faizal

Hafsah Faizal published the first book in the Sands of Arawiya duology, We Hunt the Flame, in 2019. The book debuted on The New York Times bestseller list at number five. The second book in the series, We Free the Stars, released in 2021. Following completion of the duology, it was announced that STXtv was developing a television adaptation of We Hunt the Flame with Faizal as executive producer.

A Tempest of Tea, the start of a new series set in the same world as Sands of Arawiya, is set to release later this year. Faizal found her literary agent through the Twitter book pitch contest #DVPit.

Chloe Gong

Upon the release of her debut novel These Violent Delights, Chloe Gong became one of the youngest writers to author a young adult hardcover on The New York Times bestseller list at the age of 21. The sequel, Our Violent Ends, was published in 2021. A spinoff series following one of the characters from These Violent Delights is currently in the works, with the first installment Foul Lady Fortune releasing later this year.

Gong is currently working on her first adult fantasy novel, Immortal Longings, which is expected to publish in mid-to-late 2023.
