Moon Knight is the latest Marvel show to take Disney+ by storm. The superhero show has created a ton of buzz with audiences and critics, due in large part to the layered performances of stars Oscar Isaac (Marc Spector/Steven Grant), Ethan Hawke (Arthur Harrow), and May Calamawy (Layla El-Faouly). This week’s episode was one of the strongest of the show to date, as we found out the source of the title character’s dissociative identity disorder, with Isaac turning in another stellar performance.

Parrot Analytics, an organization that monitors things like viewership numbers and how much shows are talked about online, is reporting that Moon Knight is currently the world’s most in-demand show, per Business Insider. Since its premiere on March 30, Moon Knight is 8.65 times more in-demand than the average show. The nuances of what exactly that means are kind of hard to parse, but the gist is that Moon Knight is doing quite well.

Fans like Moon Knight, but that doesn’t necessarily mean more subscribers for Disney+

All of Disney’s other Marvel shows were also in high demand while new episodes were airing, before the numbers dipped back down after their finales. As it stands, Moon Knight is doing better than Loki or Hawkeye were at this point in their run, but lagging behind WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Again, it’s all a little nebulous since streamers don’t actually report their viewing numbers; this is demand as measured by the amount of discussion online.

Interestingly, Business Insider points out that this doesn’t necessarily equate to growth for the Disney+ platform. What the numbers show is that the streamer’s Marvel shows are going over really well with Marvel fans and the platform’s already-existing subscriber base, but they’re not really pulling in new subscribers.

Honestly, this isn’t surprising. If you’re not already into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s not exactly easy to jump right in on any of these shows. Moon Knight is the first one in a while that feels accessible to people who haven’t followed the MCU.

The finale of the Moon Knight limited series hits Disney+ next Wednesday, May 4.
