The CW cancels Batwoman after 3 seasons

The CW, which is in the process of being sold, has cancelled Batwoman after three seasons. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow still hangs in the balance.
After three seasons on the air, The CW has cancelled Batwoman. Showrunner Caroline Dries just announced the news on Twitter:
This news comes at a time when ViacomCBS and WarnerMedia are considering selling The CW. In this time of uncertainly, shows like Batwoman — which has a dedicated audience but never really blew up — were in more danger than they would be if the network were on firmer footing. Legends of Tomorrow is another one with an uncertain future while the proposed reboot of Babylon 5 was put on hold. The Flash, Riverdale, Superman & Lois and more were all renewed, so the Arrowverse isn’t going anywhere.
Batwoman has had an eventful life. In the first season, the title role was played by Ruby Rose, who left after the end of season 1. Since then, Javicia Leslie took over.
This is too bad for Batwoman fans, but the show had a fun, interesting run. What I’m really curious about now is who might buy The CW, and how might they alter the programming once they do. Stay tuned.
