Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opens tomorrow, May 6…only a lot of theaters are already showing it right now. Are you planning to see Marvel’s latest tentpole piece? Do you have questions? Is one of them about how many post-credits scenes are in the movie? If so, we have you covered.

Starting with Iron Man back in 2008, the post-credits scene has become a standard feature of every Marvel movie. It’s been a while since Samuel L. Jackson would show up to recruit the hero of the hour into the Avengers, but the movies have continued to use these scenes to set up adventures to come.

So what about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? I’m gonna reveal how many post-credits scenes the movie has and talk about them very generally while doing my best to avoid any specific spoilers.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has two post-credits scenes

As is de rigueur for MCU movies these days, Doctor Strange 2 has two post-credits scenes. Again, without spoiling things, the first sets up what looks like another adventure for the title character. Marvel may follow up on that in Doctor Strange 3, or maybe they’ll leave it unresolved; they’ve left a couple doors open.

The final post-credits scene has nothing to do with the wider MCU. It follows up on a joke made earlier in the movie and is a cute way to end things; it got a big laugh in the theater where I watched it. But it’s important to the lore or anything.
