HBO’s long-awaited Game of Thrones prequel show House of the Dragon is almost upon us. Set roughly 200 years before the original series, the spinoff will tell the story of a brutal Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. Soon, dragon will fight dragon in the skies over Westeros, and the realm will burn.

As you might expect, a show about a Targaryen civil war will feature an awful lot of Westeros’ first family. From Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen to Emma D’Arcy as his niece Rhaenyra to Paddy Considine as King Viserys, it’s gonna be a lot of silver wigs. But there are still plenty of Targaryens we haven’t heard about getting cast for yet. There’s still room to add more faces to the Targaryen family tree.

One actor in particular fans have been pushing to see is Hunter Schafer, who played transgender high school student Jules Vaughn on HBO’s Euphoria. Schafer’s performance on that show made her someone to watch. And it just so happens that she has the perfect look for a Targaryen.

Hunter Schafer House of the Dragon

As the release date for House of the Dragon approaches, fans have taken to the internet to point out that Schafer would fit right in with the Targaryen family. “Does anyone else see Hunter Schafer as Visenya Targaryen? She has that look I always imagined Visneya having. Hunter looks like she could be related to Emma D’Arcy (Rhaenyra actress) too,” tweeted Art of Ice and Fire.

While Visenya won’t feature in House of the Dragon (she died around 64 years before the events of the series), there are plenty of other Targaryens around at this time. And the one thing fans seem to agree on is that they’d love to see Schafer play one of them. “Hunter Schafer needs to be in House of the Dragon,” tweeted one fan. “Random, but Hunter Schaffer could play a Targaryen,” agreed another.

One Redditor even made an infographic of Schafer and House of the Dragon star Emma D’Arcy side-by-side, as a tongue-in-cheek way of saying it was hard to tell the two actors apart.

House of the Dragon premieres August 21 on HBO and HBO Max. Whether Schafer is eventually added to the show or not, rest assured that there will be plenty of Targaryens. And there will be fire and blood.
