Johanna Lannister

Lady Johanna was the wife of Lord Jason Lannister, who fought for the Greens during the Targaryen civil war. After his death in 130 AC, Johanna ruled Casterly Rock as regent for her young son. During her regency, she faced a persistent Ironborn invasion and protected her seat while the rest of the Westerlands were sacked. To fight off the Iron Men, she allied with the Costayne fleet and reportedly also donned a man’s mail. When Lord Rodrick Greyjoy was defeated, she had him captured, gelded, and made her young son’s fool. Johanna restored the glory and power of House Lannister and also repaired their relations with King’s Landing by lending conspicuous amounts of gold to the Crown.

Alys Rivers

Alys Rivers was a servant — and, according to some, a bastard — of House Strong at Harrenhal. Some say she was a witch, an enchantress, and she herself claimed she could see things in the fire. During the Dance of Dragons, she became the lover of Prince Aemond Targaryen and was beloved by him, so much so that many spoke of love spells. She bore Aemond a son, and after his death claimed that the two had married and that their child was the rightful heir to the Seven Kingdoms. In 133 AC, Alys took Harrenhal at the head of a band of outlaws and held the castle for quite some time, as the Crown’s first attempt at regaining control over it was unsuccessful.

Sabitha Frey

Lady Sabitha was the widow of Lord Forrest Frey, and she held the Twins fiercely while fighting for Rhaenyra’s cause. It is said in Fire & Blood that she “would sooner ride than dance, wore mail instead of silk, and was fond of killing men and kissing women.” She seized Harrenhal for Rhaenyra and survived Prince Aemond’s attack when he came back to claim the castle on Vhagar’s back. Lady Sabitha later joined the Riverland’s host marching on King’s Landing to support Aegon the Younger. She fought at the Second Battle of Tumbleton and the Battle of the Kingsroad, while sharing a tent and possibly a bond with fellow lady warrior Alysanne Blackwood.

Once in the capital, Sabitha made herself influential at court and almost made it onto the council of regents for Aegon III despite being a woman. Instead she returned to the Crossing to reestablish peace and prosperity in the Riverlands, and along with Black Aly promoted the marriages of Northern soldiers to Riverlands women through the Widow Fairs she organized.
