2. Ahsoka
One of the most popular characters from The Clone Wars made her live-action debut in an episode The Mandalorian season 2. Now, Anakin Skywalker’s former padawan will have her own series when Ahsoka premieres on Disney+.
The Ahsoka series was announced a year ago, after Rosario Dawson portrayed the Togruta Jedi in an epic episode that gave us Baby Yoda’s actual name (Grogu) and teased the future arrival of a live-action Grand Admiral Thrawn. The episode didn’t reveal much about what Ahsoka has been up to since her appearance in Star Wars Rebels, other than that she’s looking for Thrawn, an antagonist on that series.
As for her own show, we know that Dawson will reprise her role as Ahsoka. She’ll be joined by Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren and Ivanna Sakhno in a newly created role. The end of Rebels saw Sabine and Ahsoka embarking on a dangerous mission to find young Jedi Ezra Bridger, who vanished into hyperspace with Thrawn. In The Mandalorian, it’s clear Ahsoka is still looking for Ezra and Thrawn. That’s probably where her show will go, although we don’t know who will play the live-action versions of Ezra and Thrawn yet.
Ahsoka is a beloved character and Rosario Dawson a talented actress. If there were ever two people who deserve their own show, it’s them.
