5. The Bad Batch season 2

The galaxy’s iconic Clone Force 99 — consisting of Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Echo and Crosshair — will return for a second season of The Bad Batch after the first premiered to rave reviews in 2021. The animated show, which revolves around a group of clone soldiers disillusioned with the Empire after Revenge of the Sith, is a sequel of sorts to Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It builds on the best parts of that series while bringing in events and characters from across the galaxy.

The Bad Batch season 1 supplied more details about the clones’ inhibitor chips that forced them to murder their Jedi generals after the Emperor executed Order 66, and gave us a startling first look at the earliest days and months of the Empire’s hold on the galaxy. The first season also introduced us to Omega, a young girl who was the only other unaltered clone of Jango Fett besides Boba Fett (called Alpha by the Kaminoans). Clone Force 99 helped Omega escape Kamino before the Empire took over and destroyed the cloning facility.

The first season is packed with chilling and emotional moments along with plenty of action, adventure and a bit of humor about the “dad batch.” The Bad Batch season 2 arrives in the fall of 2022 from executive producers David Filoni, Athena Portillo, Brad Rau, Jennifer Corbett and Carrie Beck.
