Maisie Williams is “excited” about Kit Harington’s Jon Snow sequel
By Dan Selcke
Ever since the news broke that HBO was in early development on a Game of Thrones sequel series once again starring Kit Harington as Jon Snow, everybody’s been hitting up other GoT vets to get their reactions. PEOPLE was fortunate enough to catch up with Maisie Williams, who played Jon’s sister Arya Stark for all eight seasons. What does she make of the news?
“Everything surrounding the story [of GOT] is very exciting,” Williams said. “We had such a rich show, and there’s still so much story to tell.”
"I think it’s really exciting, and I think that Kit is such a phenomenal actor. Him playing Jon Snow was just like a cultural reset. I think everything that he touches is magic, and I’m excited to see what it’s going to be."
No surprise that Arya is in Jon’s corner.
Maisie Williams is open to playing Arya Stark again
Of course, there’s another question here. Arya and Jon were among the lucky few characters who actually survived past the end of Game of Thrones, meaning it’s possible they could reunite in the sequel show, should it actually make it to air.
Williams hasn’t made a move to play Arya again, but speaking on the Table Manners podcast last year, she sounded open to it. “Well I could do it because I didn’t die,” Williams said. “I’m waiting on the call!”
Now that we know a Game of Thrones sequel is at least being considered, that call doesn’t seem like such a remote possibility. It makes you wonder who else could be in consideration.
