A lucky few will get to watch the premiere of House of the Dragon in Paris at Le Grand Rex, the biggest movie theater in Europe.

Everyone’s gearing up for the premiere of House of the Dragon, HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel series. Set some 200 years before the original show, it tells the story of a brutal civil war fought between rival factions of the Targaryen faction. It’s a story big enough for a huge screen, and that’s what it’s going to get, because the premiere will be shown at the Le Grand Rex, the biggest movie theater in Europe.

Located in Paris, Le Grand Rex seats 2,700 people. If I remember my middle school French, and I definitely don’t, “Le Grand Rex” means…The Big King? But whatever, that’s not important.

House of the Dragon premieres on August 21. Le Grand Rex will show the premiere on both August 22 and August 29, according to the website of OCS.

OCS is a French TV network and streaming service. Unfortunately, you have to be a subscriber to OCS in order to attend either of these screenings; first you enter a drawing, and then several people’s names are chosen at random. So this isn’t the kind of thing where you can just buy a ticket online and then plan a French vacation.

For the lucky few who get to see House of the Dragon on the big screen, it should be quite the experience. For the rest of us, we can watch it at home in just over a month!
