Patton Oswalt is having a big week. He has two projects coming out on Friday: The Sandman and I Love My Dad. In one plays a bird and in the other he plays a dad. But which is which?
Okay, joke over: in The Sandman, Patton Oswalt plays a bird. Specifically, he voices Matthew, a straight-talking man who used to be human but has since become a talking raven in the Dreaming, the world we all visit when we dream. Matthew is a beloved character from The Sandman comics by Neil Gaiman, and he absolutely knocks the role out of the park.
Oswalt is one name in a pretty impressive cast; The Sandman also stars Charles Dance, David Thewlis, Gwendoline Christie, Stephen Fry, Jenna Coleman and many more. Check it out when it hits Netflix this Friday!

At the same time, Oswalt will star in I Love My Dad as a father who attempts to reconnect with his estranged son by posing as a girl online. His son starts falling for this creation, which is…awkward.
Apparently this is based on a true story, and I don’t know if I want to forget that fact or google the details. In any case, Oswalt has a busy week.
