James Gunn reassures fans that Peacemaker Season 2 is safe

Things have been quite chaotic over at Warner Bros. the last few days. Movies got quietly removed from HBO Max, there are rumors that HBO Max will get subsumed by Discovery+, and Batgirl — a movie the studio already spent nearly $100 million on — has been axed. On Instagram, directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Falla said they were “saddened and shocked” by the news. “We still can’t believe it. As directors, it is critical that our work be shown to audiences, and while the film was far from finished, we wish that fans all over the world would have had the opportunity to see and embrace the final film themselves.”
What the heck is going on? The details are still coming in, but it’s starting to worry fans. What does this mean for popular shows on HBO Max? Will Peacemaker season 2 still happen, for instance?
Creator James Gunn is reassuring fans that all is well for the series, which premiered earlier this year. When a fan asked on Twitter if Peacemaker season 2 is safe, he responded very confidently, “Yes, guys, calm down.”
How can we calm down, James Gunn? This is serious business, and it feels like everything is in danger. But boy, am I glad to hear that this series is seemingly going to be okay…for now.
Peacemaker season 2 is happening
Gunn posted a behind-the-scenes picture from the season 2 set to quell fans’ increasing anxiety. It’s of Jennifer Holland eating a salad with fake blood all over her face. So yes, things are still chugging along, and he’s providing photographic proof.
Despite all the assurances, it’s hard not to worry about the fate of all of our favorite HBO Max shows. There are rumors that they are looking to move away from scripted programming and towards non-scripted, aka reality, television. Honestly, I don’t know what the heck is going on, but Gunn is an absolute sweetheart for calming our racing hearts.
