The series premiere of House of the Dragon is in the can, and it was a hit! All eyes are now on the second episode, which will pick up with Rhaenyra Targaryen, King Viserys, Alicent Hightower, and the rest of the new characters where we left them.

That said, the episode is called “The Rogue Prince,” a reference to breakout character Daemon Targaryen, played by Matt Smith. At the end of the first episode, his older brother the king banished him from King’s Landing. In new images from Episode 2, we see where he ended up: the ancestral Targaryen seat of Dragonstone, which Stannis Baratheon and Daenerys Targaryen both occupied during various points on Game of Thrones.

That’s Daemon in a lonely, contemplative moment. We also have him confronting a coterie of soldiers:

Why is there an armed confrontation on Dragonstone? It could have something to do with the dragon’s egg Daemon is holding. Basically, Daemon will get up to some s*it, which should surprise no one.

Moving on from the Rogue Prince, we’ll get another small council meeting. “Everyone put your marbles in the dishes,” the king will say.

Thus far, we’ve really only gotten to know Otto Hightower from the small council. But there are other members, including Lord Lyonel Strong, the Master of Laws:

Speaking of Otto, he’ll spend some quality time with his daughter Alicent:

Last we saw Alicent, Otto had ordered his daughter to give comfort to King Viserys in his grief. It looks like they’re still spending time together. This is the model of Old Valyria that Viserys was building in his chambers:

And of course we’ll get more of Rhaenyra Targaryen, too. How is she adjusting to her new role as heir to the Iron Throne?

Finally, we’ll get some more time with power couple Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen, seen here trying to talk the king into something or other:
