Will we live to see a time when fantasy movies stop living in the shadow of Harry Potter and set their stories somewhere other than at a magic school? Maybe, but that day is not this day. Today, we have the trailer for The School for Good and Evil, an upcoming Netflix movie that is packed to the gills with big-name talent. Take a look:

Charlize Theron! Kerry Washington! Laurence Fishburne! Patti LuPone! Michelle Yeoh! Younger actors I don’t know! Netflix is going hard on this one.

The School for Good and Evil brings the star power

The School for Good and Evil is based on a 2013 novel of the same name by Soman Chainani, about a school where kids are taught to either become fairy tale heroes or villains. The story revolves around best friends Sophie (Sophia Ann Caruso) Agatha (Sofia Wylie). Sophie wants to be a hero but is seduced by evil, and Agatha has to keep her grounded. “If Sophie becomes evil, none of us will survive,” Fishburne says. None of us.

I’m being snarky but it does look like fun. It’s also borderline surprising to see that it’s a movie rather than a TV show, which is usually how studios are approaching book adaptations these days.

The School for Good and Evil comes out on October 19.
