How long is House of the Dragon episode 5? (“We Light the Way”)

House of the Dragon episode 5

Things have officially heated up on House of the Dragon, and we can assure you it’s only going to escalate from here. The Game of Thrones prequel series has been very successful since its premiere on August 21, and we’re so relieved to see how good it is. Week after week, viewership numbers continue to go up, even when the NFL had their first football Sunday of the year last weekend.

I’m not ready for the season to end! But fortunately, we know that House of the Dragon season 2 is happening.

In the next episode of House of the Dragon, “We Light the Way,” we’ll be dealing with the aftermath of Rhaenyra Targaryen (Milly Alcock) and Daemon Targaryen’s (Matt Smith) scandal, with Rhaenyra now having to marry Laenor Velaryon (Theo Nate). Episode 5 might not be full of sex like Episode 4 (Or is it? Who knows?) but we can still expect it to be intense and eventful.

As we all get ready for a brand-new episode of House of the Dragon, here’s how long it’ll run. You’ll probably need some wine and popcorn this week again!

House of the Dragon episode 5 run time

Every episode of House of the Dragon has been around the one-hour mark so far, and that’s no different this time around. “We Light the Way” will run for exactly one hour, according to HBO’s schedule. If you watch new episodes on HBO and happen to miss the 9:00 p.m. EST premiere this Sunday, September 18, there will be an encore showing at 10:03 p.m. ET.

Episode 5 will actually play three more times on HBO after its initial premiere. And if you’re watching on HBO Max, you can start “We Light the Way” at any time starting at 9:00 p.m. EST this Sunday and rewatch whenever you like.

I can’t wait to see what happens next between Rhaenyra and Daemon, as well as Rhaenyra and Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel), after the events of Episode 4! Don’t miss a second of House of the Dragon when the spinoff continues with a new episode every Sunday night.
