It’s another big week for the Game of Thrones spin-off show House of the Dragon. In Episode 5, “We Light the Way,” we’ll be seeing the Targaryens travel to Driftmark so Viserys (Paddy Considine) can make his big proposal to Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint) and his wife Rhaenys (Eve Best). Coming off the steamy and intense events of last week’s episode, Viserys is adamant that his daughter Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) marry Corly’s son Laenor (Theo Nate).
Not only is this a smart choice politically, but now that Rhaenyra might be a “ruined” woman in her father’s eyes, he wants her to be wed quickly.
Of course, Rhaenyra still has eyes for her uncle Daemon (Matt Smith) and is in some sort of flirtation-ship with her guard Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel), so things are pretty complicated. But remember, as Daemon tells her in Episode 4, “marriage is only a political arrangement.” We’ll see how true that is once Rhaenyra weds Laenor…if she weds Laenor.
We can’t wait to see what happens in “We Light the Way.” Here’s what time the episode will be released and how you can tune in this Sunday night:
