Aegon’s Conquest

Aegon’s Conquest is the story of Aegon I Targaryen and his conquest of Westeros. It would tell the story of how Aegon, along with his sisters and their dragons, conquered six of the Seven Kingdoms and forged them into one realm.

Once again, the story is ripe with opportunity for all the classic Game of Thrones tropes. Aegon’s Conquest has everything from scheming and intrigue to battles and dragons. The first season might take us to the burning of Harrenhal, which in many ways sets the tone for the Targaryen dynasty for the rest of their reign.

Subsequent seasons might cover the conquest of the Stormlands, the Westerlands, and the submission of the North. The sense that the Targaryens were unstoppable would build throughout the series until they fail to conquer Dorne and confront their own vulnerability.

Aegon’s Conquest could easily be split into two distinct parts. The first part would focus on the conquest itself, while the second would focus on establishing the Targaryen dynasty and the early days of King’s Landing. This would allow viewers to see some of their favorite characters in a new light. The concept could even be combined with The Doom of Valyria, with the events of that show acting as a prequel.
