Robert’s Rebellion

Having a spinoff series about Robert’s Rebellion would divide fans. While a show like this would give us a chance to see our old favorites again, the major points of the rebellion have already been covered in flashbacks during Game of Thrones.

Still, if it was produced, we could see stories from the perspectives of people like Ned Stark, Jaime Lannister, Tywin Lannister, Mace Tyrell, Randyll Tarly, and many others. Would fans accept new actors cast in these iconic roles with Game of Thrones still fresh in their minds?

There’s also room to explore other aspects of the rebellion that were only touched on in the show, such as Dorne’s involvement. The show might start many years before the uprising. With the Mad King Aerys II on the throne and resistance brewing, it would be a very dark and dramatic series. We would see the rise of Tywin Lannister as he becomes Hand of the King and tries to deal with the Mad King’s increasingly erratic behavior.

Roberts Rebellion would be a brilliant way to bring some of the old Game of Thrones cast back while also introducing some new faces. With so many iconic characters and storylines, it would make for essential viewing for any fan of the franchise and would likely shatter records for the network.

It would be an easy sell for HBO, and if they could get the casting right and add new perspectives to familiar stories, it could work. However, it’s probably one of the least likely options on this list to actually happen.
