We’re getting closer to the finish line on House of the Dragon season 1, with the penultimate episode “The Green Council” debuting this Sunday night. As much as I want to see what happens next, I don’t want the show to end! It’s been such a pleasure tuning in every week to watch the drama between the Targaryen family members unfold, and last week’s episode was really fantastic.

Now that King Viserys (Paddy Considine) is dead, all hell is about to break loose. Who will sit on the Iron Throne? That’s always the question, isn’t it? As the title suggests, “The Green Council” will see the Hightowers making moves as Alicent (Olivia Cooke) believes her son Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) is the real heir to the throne. As you’ll remember, Episode 8 ended with a barely conscious Viserys talking to Alicent about Aegon the Conquerer’s dream, though he thought he was speaking to Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy). Alicent has no idea about the song of ice and fire prophecy, and she interpreted Viserys’ last words as him telling her to make their son Aegon king. This is going to get really messy.

As you plan your watch party for Sunday night, here are the details you need to know including what time to watch Episode 9 and how long it’ll run.
