The first season of House of the Dragon is over on HBO, but fans are already dreaming of what could be down the line. There have been a lot of casting rumors flying, and some of them involve very big names. To wit: fans have talked up the possibilities of Henry Cavill or Elizabeth Olsen appearing in the Game of Thrones prequel series at some point.

We have no confirmation that this will ever happen, but it is true that Elizabeth Olsen Marvel character died in the most recent Doctor Strange movie, and that Henry Cavill is leaving The Witcher. Maybe they’re looking for a new franchise to join?

Artist 83pixelstudios was inspired by those rumors to create a poster for House of the Dragon season 11, featuring Cavill and Olsen as blonde-haired Targaryens:

How could Henry Cavill and Elizabeth Olsen appear on House of the Dragon?

Obviously, House of the Dragon has a while to go before it gets to season 11. The show is telling the story of the Dance of the Dragons, a Targaryer civil war that divides the Seven Kingdoms over 100 years before the events of Game of Thrones. That story should take four seasons to tell, max.

However, the producers are open to the idea of continuing House of the Dragon as an anthology series that can visit different points in Targaryen history. The most common fan-cast for Cavill has been Aegon the Conqueror, the first Targaryen to plant their butt on the Iron Throne. In this hypothetical season, perhaps Olsen could play one of Aegon’s sister-wives, either Visenya or Rhaenys.

But not the Rhaenys we currently know from House of the Dragon…or the Aegon we know. This family loves to reuse names.

Henry Cavill and Elizabeth Olsen deny that they’re joining House of the Dragon

So what do Cavill and Olsen think of these rumors? Cavill sounded off on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz:

"To be fair, when I was watching House of the Dragon, I was like ‘I feel like a lot of these guys could make really good Witchers.’ I think it would be cool to be in Westeros, I really do. I don’t think there’s a place for me in there, though."

Olsen, meanwhile, was more forthright:

"I don’t know how things, like rumors like that, get started, and then people think they’re legitimate. Dream casting is fun, yeah, but I heard it was, like, announced though, which is weirder. I never heard of such a thing."

So it doesn’t sound like either of these actors will be flying into Westeros on dragonback anytime soon, but if House of the Dragon actually does last for 11 seasons, who knows what’ll happen?
