Earlier this week, House of the Dragon pulled off an unexpected upset at the Golden Globes to take home the award for Best Drama, something its predecessor show Game of Thrones never managed to do. And the hardware continues to roll in. Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes has revealed the honorees for its 24th Annual Golden Tomato Awards, which reward the best reviewed movies and TV shows of the year. House of the Dragon walked away with three prizes, including for Best TV Series of 2022.

George R.R. Martin thanks the fans for Golden Tomato Awards

George R.R. Martin wrote Fire & Blood, the book that House of the Dragon is based on. He shared his excitement over these latest award wins on his blog:

"And a huge THANK YOU to all the fans who voted and all those who helped make our show so dang GOOD."

Hopefully the second season of House of the Dragon can raise the bar even further. Expect it out on HBO sometime in 2024.
