The Boys season 4 has the “most disgusting” scene producer has ever seen
By Ashley Hurst
If you thought The Boys season 3 dialed the vulgarity up to 10 with episodes like “Herogasm” — which literally came with a disclaimer at the start — get ready for 11. That’s according to producer Stephan Fleet, who took to Twitter to tease that the new season contains the “most disgusting” scene he’s ever worked on.
Fleet has been a visual effects supervisor and associate producer on The Boys since season 1, and has worked on some heinous scenes. Remember the opening of season 3 where a guy shrunk himself down to a tiny size, crawled up his boyfriend’s penis, sneezed, grew suddenly big again, and exploded out of his boyfriend’s crotch? He worked on that, so he knows “disgusting” when he sees it. I don’t know whether to be excited or terrified.
The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke wasn’t even sure which season 4 scene Fleet was talking about. Yikes.
There are a whole lot of traumatizing moments that could make their way to TV this season. Spoiler alert: at one point, Homelander eats a baby. Anything goes on The Boys.
Will Homelander finally eat a baby in The Boys season 4?
Speaking to IGN, Kripke revealed that Amazon Prime Video is happy to let them create some of the most disturbing moments in television history. “We just kind of go for it. As long as it helps flesh out the world or has a real point in the story, [Amazon] tends to be really cool about it.”
The Boys season 4 is currently in production and no release date has been set yet. Early 2024 seems a safe bet. However, this year won’t be entirely deprived of The Boys content. We will see the spinoff Gen V. The series follows a group of young superheroes at a university run by Vought, all vying to become the USA’s next supe superstar… even if they have to kill each other to do it.
