HBO has a hit on its hands with The Last of Us. The adaptation of the best-selling video game of the same name premiered last weekend and unsurprisingly is already a major success. The nine-episode series stars Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) as protagonist Joel, alongside his former Game of Thrones costar Bella Ramsey as a teenager named Ellie. Taking place in a post-apocalyptic world two decades after a zombie outbreak, the two have to survive while traveling across the country.

The first episode of The Last of Us received acclaim from critics and fans of the video game alike, and is now the second most-watched premiere on HBO since 2010, right behind House of the Dragon. The show has an impressive 99% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with many saying this is the best video game adaptation ever.
