It’s time to jump back into The Last of Us because the HBO series continues tonight with Episode 3! And this one is quite an emotional one.

So far in the live-action adaptation, we’ve all fallen in love with protagonist Joel (Pedro Pascal), a hardened smuggler who sneaks out of a quarantine zone to go find his brother Tommy (Gabriel Luna). Journeying with him is a teenager named Ellie (Bella Ramsey) who, despite getting under Joel’s skin, needs to be kept safe. Seemingly immune to the virus, she might hold the key to curing this thing.

In Episode 3, “Long Long Time,” viewers get to meet two characters from the original video game, Bill (Nick Offerman) and Frank (Murray Bartlett). We see how they meet and ultimately create a life together. Check out the trailer for the new episode below while we count down the hours until premiere time!

What time is The Last of Us on tonight? How to watch

Start Time: Sunday, January 29 at 9:00 p.m. EST

TV Network: HBO

Episode: Season 1, Episode 3: “Long Long Time”

Run Time: 1 hour and 20 minutes

Live Stream: HBO – HBO Max – Hulu with HBO Max add-on

Tonight’s episode will definitely get people talking, and we’ll be curious to see the reaction from fans of the video game specifically. Without giving away spoilers, the creators have already made it known that Bill and Frank’s storyline has been changed, something showrunner Neil Druckmann thinks will “upset” people. In a recent interview with Esquire Middle East, co-showrunner Craig Mazin revealed: “In terms of departing from the source material, [Episode 3] is our most significant departure.”

The Last of Us has been a major hit for HBO and we’re sure that success will only continue as more episodes air.
