The Last of Us Episode 3
The Last of Us Episode 3

2023 is starting off right with The Last of Us, HBO’s live-action adaptation of the best-selling video game of the same name. Created by Neil Druckmann, the writer of the game, and Craig Mazin, the showrunner of HBO’s fantastic miniseries Chernobyl, the first two episodes of the Pedro Pascal-led series have been extremely successful. Not only is viewership rising, but the writing and performances have been applauded by critics and fans of the game alike. And now that Episode 3 is out, I’m sure the internet is already abuzz with reactions.

The Last of Us Episode 3, “Long Long Time,” sees the introduction of characters Bill (Nick Offerman) and Frank (Murray Bartlett), survivors of the zombie outbreak who fall in love. Their journey together is incredibly emotional, and though some fans of the game might not love how much the storyline was changed, it further proves that this isn’t just another zombie show. The Last of Us puts a focus on its characters and their relationships, making for a really powerful watch.

We won’t get into too many spoilers here, but we do have the list of songs played in the third episode if that’s what you’re looking for!

The Last of Us Episode 3 songs

  • Theme song: “The Last of Us” by Gustavo Santaolalla
  • “I’m Coming Home to Stay” by Fleetwood Mac
  • “White Room” by Cream
  • “Long Long Time” by Linda Ronstadt

The songs in The Last of Us Episode 3 do a great job at setting the tone from when we meet Bill and Frank to when the credits roll.

New episodes of The Last of Us premiere every Sunday on HBO and HBO Max, with the finale scheduled for March 12.
