Is Westworld coming back for another season?
If you’ve been hoping to see Westworld return for a fifth season in 2023, we have a double dose of bad news for you. Not only is the show not returning in 2023, but there are currently no plans for a fifth season of the one-time HBO darling.
Amid sharply declining ratings and rising costs for production of the show, HBO made the difficult decision to cancel the show after four seasons in a move that surprised many. While HBO has been known to give many of its bigger flagship series the chance to wrap their runs with a final season, the cost of creating the show coupled with the decline in the show’s ratings and the poor critical and fan reception of the show’s most recent seasons ultimately were too much for HBO to overlook.
While there is always the chance the show could perhaps be revisited in the future, there is no chance we’ll be seeing a new season of Westworld in 2023… and the odds of the show being saved aren’t looking promising.
Where is The Nevers streaming?
HBO isn’t known for canceling shows before they’ve aired their final planned episodes, but there are always some rare exceptions. Case in point, HBO’s The Nevers.
After airing six episodes in Spring 2021, The Nevers was set to return to finish its season this year. Instead, HBO canceled the show halfway through its first season. Warner Bros. Discovery then added insult to injury when it decided to pull the series from HBO Max leaving fans without the ability to stream the Joss Whedon-created sci-fi drama.
The bad news is that The Nevers won’t be returning to HBO in 2023. The good news is that the show has found a new streaming home and fans can enjoy the episodes HBO chose not to release before the show’s cancellation.
As part of a deal Warner Bros. Discovery worked out with Roku and Tubi, all 12 episodes of The Nevers are available to stream via the platforms. This means this episodes that nearly never saw the light of day can be enjoyed by fans of the show.
