Fantastic Four movie begins filming “early next year”

Between the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Eternals, and so on, the Marvel Cinematic Universe already hosts several big superhero teams. However, there’s a big one missing: the Fantastic Four, Marvel’s oldest superhero team.
Fear not, a Fantastic Four movie is coming, but don’t expect to see it until 2025. Per Collider, director Matt Shakman (who also helmed WandaVision) confirmed that the MCU’s long-awaited Fantastic Four film is pencilled in to begin filming in 2024. Before he directs his focus on Marvel, he has an untitled MonsterVerse TV show to finish.
"You know, I’m still finishing up the Godzilla project you were mentioning. We’re in post on that, and have a few more months on that. Fantastic Four is pretty much my life until Valentine’s Day of 2025."
None of the Fantastic Four have been cast yet
The casting will make or break the Fantastic Four movie. Fans will only expect the best. There are a lot of dream-casts circling the web. Most notably, people want John Krasinski to return as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, a role he briefly played in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Casting is still ongoing, so don’t believe everything you see on the internet. “All the casting stuff you see is just rumors,” Shakman said. “We are early in our process there. We have nothing to announce right now, and certainly, when we do we’ll let you know.”
The most recent casting rumor has Mila Kunis as Sue Storm. So where has this come from? The Daily Mail recently posted images of Shackman having a coffee with her. That’s all it takes.
Shakman passed on Star Trek 4 to work on the MCU
Shakman is so passionate about working on Marvel projects that he even stepped away from working on Star Trek 4 to jump back into the MCU. “Movies have different journeys and momentums and schedules are a little bit mercurial, and so when the Fantastic Four opportunity came up, it was just too hard to pass up, and to go back home to Marvel, a place that I worked on ‘WandaVision’ at, with those people who are wonderful collaborators,” he told TheWrap.
"It’s really a family there and to be able to go back and tackle something that I truly love, and they’re very similar in some ways: they both were launched in the ’60s at the same time, they’re both about optimism and looking to the stars and technology can solve everything and they’re about family too — the family you have, the family you make. So they’re aligned in many ways and speak to my heart and equally, so I’m excited to be working on Fantastic Four."
The Fantastic Four movie is currently scheduled to come out on February 14, 2025. Will it be a Valentines Day gift or a nightmare? Well, it’s got to be better than the 2015 Fantastic Four movie, right?
