Remember the Avengers musical from Hawkeye? Rogers: The Musical? It’s an in-universe Broadway play depicting the climatic events of the first Avengers movie, but with singing and dancing. Clint Barton walked out on it. Looked pretty fun:

Disney isn’t one to let a marketing opportunity go by, so they’re going to expand the one song we saw in Hawkeye out to short one-act musical, to run at California Adventure Park in Disneyland this summer!

Disney expanding Rogers: The Musical from Hawkeye into a one-act musical

The song from Hawkeye, “Save The City,” was written by musical theater veterans Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. We don’t know if they’re also behind the expansion, but they did express interest in writing a whole Broadway show around the time Hawkeye was airing back in late 2021.

“There are a million things that you could create in a Marvel musical, especially with Steve Rogers,” Shaiman said. “The fact that he exists in the ‘40s as well would allow us to write a whole lot of different genres, so the whole Marvel story would take place over decades. It would be a thrill to get to do that. But for now we’re just extremely excited about the way the show came out.”

This is a pretty fun idea. Who could be mad at it? If you’re at Disneyland over the summer and it’s playing at a theater near you (or the only theater they have there, I dunno, I’ve never been), why wouldn’t you pop on in?
