5 new dragons most likely to show up in House of the Dragon season 2
4. Silverwing
By the time of the Dance, Silverwing is close to 100 years old, having hatched in 36 AC and bonded to Alysanne Targaryen. Alysanne became queen when she married her brother Jaehaerys I, and the pair rode their dragons Silverwing and Vermithor to all corners of Westeros during their 55-year reign. When Alysanne died in 100 AC, Silverwing remained riderless on Dragonstone until the Dance.
Like Sheepstealer, Silverwing is one of the beasts the dragonseeds attempt to tame and mount. Of the four wild dragons, Silverwing is relatively tame and the only one who supposedly does not kill anyone during the Sowing of the Seeds, since she was already used to having a rider. A man-at-arms named Ulf the White eventually claimed the historic dragon for his own. The duo participate in the Battle in the Gullet before Rhaenrya retakes King’s Landing, all things we’ll likely see in season 2.
Silverwing’s story continues after that. Without giving too much away, she eventually becomes riderless again, and although more men attempt to claim her as their mount, she refuses or attacks every one of them. She is one of only a few dragons to outlive the Dance.
5. Tessarion
Tessarion the Blue Queen is the mount of Daeron Targaryen, the youngest son of Alicent and Viserys Targaryen. We have not seen Daeron onscreen yet; just like in the book, he is likely being fostered in Oldtown with his mother’s family. He should be introduced in season 2.
When the Dance breaks out, Daeron and Tessarion join Ormund Hightower’s host as they march north to support the Green cause. During the Battle of the Honeywine, Daeron uses Tessarion to save the Hightower army and end the Black offensive in the Reach. Ormund uses his Valyrian steel sword Vigilance to knight the prince. He later proclaims him Daeron the Daring for his efforts in the fight.
Daeron and Tessarion go on to play a key role in the rest of the story; he is probably the most pleasant and well-adjusted of Alicent’s sons, which makes him a valuable asset in the war effort.
There are yet more dragons in this story, but those are the five we think we’re most likely to meet in season 2, at least in the flesh. But there are yet more to come:
