Every actor from The Last of Us games who appeared on the show (and who they played)

3. Jeffrey Pierce (Tommy) as Perry
Like Joel and Ellie, we next head next to Kansas City, Missouri. The Kansas City storyline spans Episodes 4 and 5 and introduces viewers to Henry (Lamar Johnson), Sam (Keivonn Woodard), Kathleen (Melanie Lynskey), in the aftermath of a messy, violent conflict that caused the fall of the Kansas City QZ.
These episodes feature some of the biggest changes from the games. In the game, we never really got to know the people who overthrew the QZ; the entire story with Kathleen and her dead brother was added to flesh things out.
Another addition was Perry, a former soldier who serves as Kathleen’s right-hand man. While Perry may not have been in the game, his voice certainly was: he’s played by Jeffrey Pierce, the same actor who portrayed Joel’s brother Tommy in both The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II.
“I emailed [Neil Druckmann] after they got the pickup and knew that Craig [Mazin] was in. And I said, ‘Look, I’ll come carry a spear and stand in the background. Anything you need to make this thing go. I’d love to be a part of it. And if not, that’s fine too,'” Pierce told Screen Rant. “And there was a character that we talked about initially, and then they said, ‘Nah, we’re not going to sort of buy you as a victim.’ I think he said, ‘We’re not going to buy you as sort of a weasel.’ So that was flattering. And then two weeks later, they called and sent the scripts for Perry and offered me the chance to do that.”
Pierce (and his epic beard) are perfect in the TV series. Sure, the revolutionaries do a lot of bad stuff, but we can’t totally hate them if the guy who played Tommy is in the mix. Sneaky sneaky, HBO.
