The Chronicles of Narnia

The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis is one of the most popular book series in history, and it would make a fantastic TV series.

There are seven books in the fantasy series, most of them set in the magical world of Narnia. These stories are so rich. If done right, a TV series based on six or seven of the Narnia books could run for a decade.

Netflix had (or maybe still has?) the TV rights to The Chronicles of Narnia. There were reports that the streamer was developing movies and shows set in Narnia, but so far, we haven’t heard anything new about that in some time. It looks like Netflix is just sitting on the rights.

I know I just criticized WBD for making a Harry Potter show even though the movies were made pretty recently, but now I’m asking for a Chronicles of Narnia TV series even though there were a bunch of movies released between 2005 and 2010. I’m such a hypocrite. But in my defense, the Harry Potter movies are thorough and complete, while The Chronicles of Narnia movies are not. They could do so much more with these stories, and Max would be the perfect home for those stories.

We’ve seen good fantasy adaptations on HBO in the past with Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, His Dark Materials, and more. An HBO series based on The Chronicles of Narnia would be excellent.
