“Write a different ending to Game of Thrones. In this one, Cersei realizes that what she really wanted to do was dance.”

In this alternate ending to Game of Thrones, after the final battle against the White Walkers, Cersei Lannister realizes that all she really wanted to do was dance. Despite her ruthless reputation and her long history of violence and betrayal, Cersei has always had a passion for music and dance.

As the new dawn rises over King’s Landing, Cersei steps out of the Red Keep and heads towards the streets, where she sees a group of people dancing to the sound of a lute. The music and the energy of the dance ignite something inside her, and she joins in.

For the first time in a long time, Cersei feels truly alive as she dances through the streets of King’s Landing, twirling and spinning in the sunlight. As she dances, she realizes that this is what she has been missing all along – the simple joy of movement and self-expression.

With a newfound sense of purpose, Cersei announces that she will be stepping down from the Iron Throne and dedicating herself to the art of dance. She sets up a school for young girls in King’s Landing, teaching them the art of dance and giving them a safe place to learn and grow.

As she watches her students perform, Cersei realizes that this is where she truly belongs – not on the throne, but on the dance floor. She may have been a queen, but now she is a dancer, and she has never felt more alive.

In the final scene, we see Cersei leading a group of dancers in a joyful, exuberant dance in the streets of King’s Landing. As the people of the city look on in amazement, they realize that Cersei Lannister, once the most feared woman in the Seven Kingdoms, has found her true calling in life. The Game of Thrones may be over, but Cersei’s new journey has just begun.

Granted: I was getting a little punch-drunk by this point, and I’m glad I was. This is glorious. You don’t want to see Cersei dance through the streets of King’s Landing, recreating her infamous walk of shame as a joyous mass boogie? This is my new favorite alternate ending, and I can’t see anything topping it.

Anyway, at this point I’m just having fun with the prompts. Another goofy one:

“Write a different ending to Game of Thrones. In this one, the characters realize that the real Iron Throne was the friends they made along the way.”

In this alternate ending to Game of Thrones, after the final battle against the White Walkers, the characters realize that the real Iron Throne was the friends they made along the way.

As they gather in the ruins of King’s Landing, they reflect on their long journey and the sacrifices they made for the Iron Throne. But as they look around at the people they have come to love and respect, they realize that the true power and meaning of their journey lay in the relationships they built and the bonds they forged.

Together, they set aside their differences and dedicate themselves to rebuilding the Seven Kingdoms, not as conquerors or rivals, but as friends and allies. They work together to restore order and stability to a land torn apart by war, using the lessons they learned on their journey to guide them.

In the final scene, we see the characters gathered around a table, sharing a meal and laughing together. They raise a toast to the friends they made along the way, and to the future they have built together. As the camera pans out, we see the people of the Seven Kingdoms coming together, united by a common purpose and a shared sense of hope.

The Game of Thrones may be over, but the lessons it taught the characters will live on. They have learned that power and wealth are fleeting, but the bonds of friendship and love are everlasting. As they look to the future, they know that as long as they have each other, they can overcome any challenge and build a brighter tomorrow.

And we’re back to pablum. One thing ChatGPT doesn’t seem to be good at is picking up on sarcasm or irony. “The real Iron Throne was the friends we made along the way” is meant to be sincere in an obnoxious, eye-rolling kind of way, but the AI seems to have taken it literally. Which is fine. The characters could all use a break.

Okay, one more for the road. It’s time for Jon Snow to go where no Westerosi has gone before…
