5 Harry Potter spinoffs we’d rather see than a remake series

2) The Founders of Hogwarts
The founding of Hogwarts is another story with great potential.
We hear the outlines of this story in Harry Potter proper. In the 10th century, four great wizards came together to start a magic school: Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Rowena Ravenclaw and Helga Hufflepuff. They were a team, but there were disagreements. Slytherin only wanted pure-bloods at the school, while others were more accepting of half-blood and muggle-born wizards. Hufflepuff even opened her arms those who were rejected by other founders.
These conflicts persisted and eventually ruptured with Slytherin hiding a basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets so that his “true heir” could purge all those students he deemed unworthy of studying or practicing magic.
How the founders met, how they built Hogwart, and how they fell out would certainly make an interesting spinoff.
3) The past of Lord Voldemort
Lord Voldemort is the most evil character in the series. He had a traumatic childhood that could be interesting to see on TV.
Voldemort’s mother, Merope Gaunt (a descendent of Salazar Slytherin), ensnared a wealthy muggle with a love potion. Tom Marvolo Riddle was the result of this tryst. Learning the truth, Riddle Sr. disowned both his wife and yet-to-be-born son. Merope died in childbirth, leaving his son with nothing except his name.
If the Fantastic Beasts series continues (not a guarantee at this point), it’s possible we’ll see a young Tom Riddle turn into Lord Voldemort, but a grim, moody show focused entirely on him would be great.
We also see a bit of Voldemort’s backstory in the movies, but there’s much more to explore, including his years at Hogwarts, his time working at Borgin and Burkes, his turn towards the dark side, and the creation of the Horcruxes.
