Who plays Yennefer in The Witcher?

The character of Yennefer has been around for decades. She was introduced in author Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher stories; a sorceress, Yennefer is the on-again, off-again paramour of Geralt of Rivia, the titular witcher.
She has since appeared onscreen, whether in The Witcher video games by CD Project Red or The Witcher TV show on Netflix.
So who plays Yennefer? It depends what medium you’re talking about.
Who plays Yennefer in The Witcher TV show on Netflix?
In The Witcher 3, the video game from CD Project Red, Yennefer is voiced by Denise Gough. CD Project Red is also working on The Witcher 4, although it’s unknown if Gough will return. Here’s hoping!
Meanwhile, on the Netflix show, Yennefer is played by Anya Chalotra, a 26-year-old British actor. She played the character for the first two seasons and will return for the third, which premieres on June 29. The second half of the season will drop on July 27.
The last Witcher book was Season of Storms, which came out in 2013. But even though there hasn’t been a new book in a decade, Yennefer is only growing more popular as she gets more exposure through TV and video games. And who knows? Maybe she’ll be on the big screen before Witcher fever breaks.
