AMC has some very exciting news regarding The Walking Dead: Dead City. Instead of only premiering on AMC, the network has decided they will release the premiere three days earlier for AMC+ subscribers.

It is a genius way to bring in more subscribers, especially any huge fans of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan). So if you aren’t already subscribed to AMC+, it may be worth signing up now to catch the early airing for Dead City.

The Walking Dead: Dead City gets an early AMC+ premiere

For those that don’t have AMC+ and aren’t planning on getting it, the premiere will be on AMC on June 18 at 10 PM EST, immediately after the mid-season finale of Fear The Walking Dead.

Dead City will be set two years after the events of The Walking Dead series finale, with Maggie and Negan at the center of all the chaos. It is an unlikely duo, and if you had asked any fan a few years ago if a show like this would happen, we would have never believed it. However, here we are, and the latest trailer is teasing all kinds of madness!

The trailer shows Maggie being attacked by raiders as her son Herschel (Logan Kim) is kidnapped by someone named The Croat (Zeljko Ivanek). Of course, the man who would abduct her and Glenn’s (Steven Yuen) son would have a previous connection with Negan. And it is through Negan, the very man who killed Glenn, that she can rescue Herschel. The world has a weird way of coming full circle, doesn’t it?

Negan and Maggie will head to Manhattan to track down and save Herschel, but many obstacles will be in the way. Their team-up will have them facing new foes, making new friends, and encountering a new batch of walkers we haven’t seen in this world before.

But the walkers, as always, aren’t the true enemies of this world. Humans are the danger and always have been, and The Walking Dead: Dead City will be a jarring reminder of that.

The Walking Dead: Dead City premieres on AMC+ on June 15 and on June 18 on AMC. New episodes will air every Sunday on AMC at 9 PM EST.
