Pedro Pascal is one of the most prolific actors in the world right now; perhaps a little too prolific, some might say. He’s everywhere, whether fighting fungal monsters in The Last of Us or exploring the Star Wars galaxy as Din Djarin in The Mandalorian.

We’ve all asked ourselves, how does he do it? Well, not only is his schedule ridiculously hectic, but he also has some tricks up his sleeve to ensure he can do more multiple projects at once. For instance, while he does play the title character on The Mandalorian, that title characters spends most of his time with a helmet covering his face, meaning Pascal isn’t always the one in the suit moving around in front of the camera. He can do most of his work in a recording booth, freeing up some much-needed time.

Pascal shed some light on this during a roundtable interview with other actors set up by The Hollywood Reporter, confirming that “a lot” of the role was voiceover work.

"There was an extended amount of experimentation, being in the suit for a lot of it, and frankly, my body wasn’t up for the task as far as, like, the four months of it. But I was in it. I was in it a significant amount, an elastic amount (he pretends to tug at his neck, where the suit would chafe). But now we’ve figured it out, which is super cool, and amazingly, it gave me the opportunity to be able to go and do something else."

Of course, on the rare occasions that Din Djarin removes his helmet — it happened once in season 1 and again in season 2 — Pascal needs to be more involved. At other times, the armor is worn by actors Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder. Shoutout to our unsung heroes!

Pedro Pascal weighs in on being called “daddy” online

Pascal plays a lot of surrogate fathers, whether he’s taking care of Grogu on The Mandalorian or looking after Ellie on The Last of Us. This has led to him garnering a reputation as the internet’s favorite on-screen daddy.

“I am having fun with it. [The daddy thing] seems a little role-related,” Pascal said. “There was a period where the Mandalorian is very daddy to baby Grogu, and Joel is very daddy to Ellie. These are daddy parts.”

Later this year, Pascal is poised to film The Last of Us season 2, if all goes according to plan. He’s currently working on Ridley Scott’s long-anticipated sequel to Gladiator, which films this summer. Prepare for a lot more Pascal on our screens!
